TUPE WISE FINANCIAL CAPABILITY MICRO-CREDENTIALS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VAKA TAUTUA – APPROVED

New Zealand Academic and Learning Institute Limited is accredited to provide Tupe Wise: Building the Financial Capability of Families Micro-Credential Level 4, and Tupe Wise: Supporting Families to Achieve Financial Independence and Intergenerational Prosperity Micro-credential Level 5 by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under section 446A of the Education and Training Act 2020.

Description of the micro-credential:

Both micro-credentials were developed in collaboration with a community/industry partner, Vaka Tautua. A summary of the micro-credentials are provided below:

Tupe Wise: Building the Financial Capability of Families Micro-Credential
Level 4
35 Credits
The aim of this micro-credential is to enable learners to develop and apply financial knowledge and practical skills to manage everyday personal and whānau money matters. Learners will make informed financial decisions and implement structured strategies that improve financial wellbeing in familiar and real-life contexts. The programme supports learners to build confidence, self-management, and the ability to apply standard financial tools and processes in their own lives and within their whānau.
Tupe Wise: Supporting Families to Achieve Financial Independence and Intergenerational Prosperity Micro-credential
Level 5
40 Credits
The aim of this micro-credential is to enable learners to extend financial capability by developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to plan for long-term financial wellbeing. Through a culturally-grounded and practical learning journey, learners will build on the financial knowledge gained in the Level 4 qualification, and apply advanced strategies for financial planning, investment, retirement preparation, and intergenerational wealth building. Learners will develop the ability to make informed, values-based financial decisions that align with personal aspirations, whānau priorities, and cultural practices. The programme empowers individuals and families to strengthen their economic resilience, build sustainable financial independence, and confidently navigate life transitions and financial challenges, while contributing to whānau and community prosperity.
